Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students
To make it easier for overseas students to gain admission to the University without coming to Japan, Kyoto Notre Dame University is one of the listed universities which offers Pre-arrival Admission by utilizing the EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students), which is officially administrated by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) with the Ministry of Education. The EJU assesses the Japanese language ability necessary for admission to universities. Kyoto Notre Dame University requires overseas applicants to take the EJU test in your home country prior to the application to the University.

- Applicants must take the EJU before applying to the University if the applicant is residing in the country where the EJU is administered.
- The applicant may submit any highest exam scores of the EJU in the past two years, which are the exam scores taken in November 2007, in June/November in 2008, or in June 2009.
- Overseas applicants to Kyoto Notre Dame University must submit a copy of "EJU Examination Admission Card" with other necessary application documents. If the score report is already in your hand prior to the application to the University, please submit the copy of the score report as well.
- EJU: If not administered in your country?
Applicants in countries or regions where the EJU is not administered must submit the official score report (original) of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT Level 1), administered by the Japan Foundation in December of either 2007, 2008, or July 2009.
