Kyoto Notre Dame University offers the following scholarships for international students on the combined basis of demonstrated academic potential and financial need. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis with financial need being the primary factor.

Scholarship Type 1

Scholarship Type 1 is awarded to international students with financial needs and with good academic records. This competitive award is only available for international students and is renewable with good academic performance.

1. Scholarship Award
   A total of \360,000 per student per year is awarded in two parts, one-half in spring and one-half in autumn.
2. Number of Recipients
   The number of recipients is decided upon selection.
3. Duration of Award
   One year. Application for selection/renewal will be required at the beginning of each academic year, for a maximum of 4 years in total.
4. Application Procedure
   Submit a designated application form along with other supporting documents to the Office of International Programs in April of each year.

Scholarship Type 2

Scholarship Type 2 is awarded to international students residing in the University Dormitory. The amount of award is equivalent to the annual room fee, and the scholarship is renewable every year upon application.

1. Scholarship Award
   The amount of scholarship is equivalent to the annual Room Fee of \450,000.
2. Number of Recipients
   Approximately five students per class per year.
3. Duration of Award
   One year. Application for selection/renewal will be required at the beginning of each academic year, for a maximum of 4 years.
4. Application Procedure
   Submit a designated application form along with other supporting documents to the Office of International Programs in April of each year.
