Students will conduct graduate level research on networked information services that support cultural exchange or English language education. Students may do (1) basic research on media use or (2) applied research on the development of services for specific cultural or educational purposes.
Students who successfully complete their independent studies should be able to assume leadership or professional consulting roles in international information service projects for educational institutions or cultural exchange organizations. As future information service leaders, students will strive to integrate their knowledge and skills in order to help individuals and organizations provide high quality, sustainable information services at reasonable costs.
Written work will be submitted in English. Research will be evaluated according to standards set by the Applied English Studies program in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
