Department of Human Life Environment

The Department of Life Environment offers a wide range of studies in six fields related to daily life (clothing, food, housing, life planning and economics, family, and welfare).
In the first year, students study across a range of six fields and learn the basics for coordinating their entire lives. From the second year, internships in cooperation with local companies and welfare facilities are compulsory, so the students go outside the university to participate in projects, obtain practical experience and enhance their expertise. Students are also able to create their own project piece and can even try submitting it to a contest.
We cultivate their ability to build new values by acquiring diverse experiences. For example, students can combine their knowledge of “food” and “management” to open a restaurant, or combine their knowledge of “housing” and “welfare” to propose interiors that meet the needs of welfare facility users. Their future possibilities are endless.

Department of Psychology

■Psychological Counseling Course

By learning the theories and skills regarding psychological support, students aim to become specialists who can help people dealing with emotional problems, and become professionals who can empathize with the patients. Students will be able to obtain the qualifications to become a licensed psychologist or clinical psychologist after graduation.

■Social and Business Psychology Course

Students learn about consumer psychology in addition to acquiring the skills to collect, analyze, and present information which are useful in society and business. / In addition to acquiring the skills of collecting, analyzing, and presenting information in society and business, the students also studies consumer psychology. Students can also aim to become certified social researchers or certified psychologists (psychological research).
Through hands-on learning directly connected to career development, such as field training in collaboration with local businesses, students can acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for business, as well as the skills to plan and develop best-selling products. Students aim to become human resources who can play an active role in a wide range of fields, including product planning, marketing, and research.

Department of Child Education

■Elementary Education Course

Students in the Department of Child Education aim to obtain kindergarten teacher qualifications, nursery teacher qualifications, and elementary school teacher’s licenses.
Teachers who have accumulated experience in real-world educational environments provide carefully planned instructions to students.
Students can acquire practical abilities that they can use when beginning their careers after graduation, The Department offers a number of opportunities for practical training, as well as having piano classrooms and childcare training classrooms that are similar to actual daycare rooms.
